They are not responsible for
their own criminal behaviour, Hitler, any shortcomings,

Conjugation of Responsibility* by Dorothee Lang

strong. the structure of conjugation. trying to get some rules down for a world gone above our head. well done.
Excellent work that establishes itself from the get go as nailed and polished.
I really enjoy reading pieces such as this, and this one is excellent. Apparently random, and yet, not.
Powerful, elegant stuff, Dorothee. Printing this one out, to read when I need to. Peace…
thanks for your feedback! i had the idea for this approach while looking for something else in google, and then tried “we are not responsible”. and then went from there, trying to stick with the search results that were listed on the first pages.
Strong piece. I really like the idea that this is based on a google search.
i like procedural pieces.
i like this procedural piece & the curious association-trees particular to search engines that is it’s core.
Google has become prosthetic of thought — even for Google itself. There’s much value in bringing its workings to consciousness. So, great choice of method here.
I think most people will go back to the top once they get to the note on the bottom. What’s interesting is that in my second reading, Google was pushing to be the referent of all the pronouns. That kind of determinative there-but-not-thereness is more or less Google’s self-understanding. That Google-hood ends up worming its way out of the structure and into critical light.
Very clever.
Dorothee,
Great to see you here again. You always make me think about things in a different way. Which is another way of saying, I’m not reponsible for how I think. ;)
Very nice! I loved this – and all the things that are revealed in apparently simple conjugations.
