We thank Dorothee Lang for her art for this week “sand mandala”:

“There were some Tibetan monks near here and they did a sand mandala, so fascinating. I thought of this for unseen, as the mandala symbols all represent the mystical, the invisible world beyond our conscious grasp.”

  1. That is beautiful, the colors, the intricacy of the pattern, and, of course, the skill of the photographer in capturing this image for us to share.

  2. Wonderful picture Dorothee. Once I met the Dalai Lama when he came to Brandeis U, where I worked at the time. The monks spent a full week creating a huge mandala. At the end, whe nthey swept the image away, I felt elation and sadness at the same time. Peace…

  3. It is such a perfect picture – the colours so vibrant, it almost looks fully animated.
